Manage Doors, People & Access Schedules

Access control replaces or supplements traditional keys with managed credentials. Depending on the selected system, cards, fobs or mobile credentials can be assigned to staff and authorized visitors. Door-specific permissions and schedules help align access with working hours, restricted areas and changing responsibilities.

A Practical Fit for Commercial Properties

Offices may need controlled employee entry, while warehouses may need separate permissions for loading areas and stockrooms. Multi-tenant buildings can have different requirements for shared entrances and individual spaces. The right design considers door hardware, traffic patterns, the number of users and how access will be administered.

Credential Changes & System Administration

A managed system can make it easier to remove access when a credential is lost or someone leaves the organization. Supported reporting features can help review entry activity, although capabilities vary by platform. Decide who will administer credentials, approve changes and review access permissions before the system is installed.

Installation & Integration Planning

Yorke Automation reviews your doors, existing hardware and access requirements before recommending a configuration. Readers, controllers, compatible locks, power supplies and network connections must work together. Any connection with an alarm or other security system depends on equipment compatibility and project requirements.

Access Control FAQs

What is an access control system?

An access control system manages entry to a property or restricted area using authorized credentials and permissions. Depending on the system, credentials may include cards, fobs or mobile devices.

Can I set different access hours for employees?

Supported systems can assign schedules and door permissions to users or groups. The exact options depend on the platform and the configuration selected for your property.

What happens if an access card or fob is lost?

On a Yorke-managed system, an administrator can deactivate the lost card or fob in the access platform and issue a replacement — the lost credential stops working immediately, so there’s no need to rekey doors.

Can access control work with my existing doors?

Suitability depends on door construction, lock hardware, cabling, power and the selected access platform. A review helps identify which components can stay and which need changes.

How much does access control installation cost?

Cost depends on door count, hardware requirements, credentials, management features and installation conditions. Ask for a quote that identifies any ongoing software or service costs as well as installation.
